"Such a wonderful experience with Alyrica! I had fiber optic installed. Everything went smoothly from the paperwork to the scheduling to the install. Marvin did my installation and was awesome. He gave me a call with his estimated arrival time. He was punctual, super friendly, and efficient. He checked all of my devices to make sure they worked and gave me all of the info for the 24/7 customer service line before he headed out. 10/10 recommend!"

FAQ

Fiber internet uses thin strands of glass to transmit data as light signals. This technology allows for much faster and more reliable internet connections compared to traditional copper cables. It's great because it offers higher speeds and excellent performance while also being able to handle increasing levels of demand for data transmission.

It starts with you signing a Fiber Utility Agreement (FUA), which grants us permission to be on your property and lets us know you intend to sign up for our service. Then, we're required to call the Utility Notification Center before we do digging of any kind. This notifies all the utility companies in the area that may have underground lines to mark them so we can know where they are and avoid causing damage. So you may see people in orange vests spraying colored paint on your yard and the nearby road a few days to a week and a half before our crew shows up to do the work.

Once the crew arrives, they will study the paint markings to determine the best equipment to use and route to take placing your drop line. They will then use a hydro-excavation trailer (“vac trailer”) to dig down and expose any existing utility that they plan to work within two feet of, so that they can ensure it doesn’t get damaged by the drill or plow.

Depending on a number of factors like the distance, soil type, and obstacles such as a sidewalk, other utilities, or even vegetation, will determine the type of equipment they will use to place the drop line under the ground. Most commonly it will either be a directional drill or small plow.

After placing the drop, they will bring the conduit up a few feet on the side of your house and place a “demarc box” which looks like a grey telephone box, and pull fiber from it, through the underground conduit, back to our nearby vault.

When the drill crew is finished, it will be spliced and your new fiber connection will be tested back to our cabinet. Lastly, we'll schedule an install to finalize the connection within your home.

Our crew is one of the best at not damaging yards, and take pride in leaving things as good if not better than when they found them. We use minimally invasive equipment, and the crew spend almost excessive amounts of time on clean up. Having said that, there is no way to dig without causing some damage, and the law requires us to “pot hole” any marked utilities within two feet of where we're working.

We will do everything we can to keep from damaging your sprinkler system if we know you have one. Make a note of it on the front of your FUA and if you know exactly where under the ground your irrigation lines are, it's helpful to mark them with WHITE spray paint once you see the other utility markings visible. Do NOT use other paint colors - it will confuse our drill crew.

No, the drill crew and splicer do not need to enter your house to complete their work, and so do not require you to be home. If you have an unfriendly dog, please make a note of it on your FUA and the crew will contact you to make arrangements if needed.

During the project period, a plowed fiber drop, which brings fiber from the mainline to your property, is free! If you choose to upgrade to a directional drill and the length of the drop is over 100' there will be a charge per foot. After our crews have finished, however, it is more costly for us to install droplines so we will charge our standard pricing for plowed and drilled drops.

Once you have a dropline, we have plans at a variety of prices and speeds to better meet your needs - check out the details below.

Due to the volume of work and the expense of installing a drop line, we are prioritizing locations that want our service. If you change your mind after our crews have completed work in the area, the cost to receive a line may be significantly higher.

Fiber drop lines (connecting the mainline to your home) will be prioritized as first come, first served. Once done, we'll be able to schedule your install and typically we have availability within a number of days. We'll do our best to get you online using the fiber service as quickly as possible!
